According to ESPN.com’s Buster Olney, there are thoughts throughout baseball that the Red Sox will be aggressive in claiming players off of waivers in August, when many teams are hesitant to add payroll. Olney also writes that some teams believe the Blue Jays are bluffing when asking for top prospects for the majors’ home run leader, Jose Bautista, who most likely will make a substantial amount of money in his final year of arbitration this offseason, potentially making it difficult for the Jays to keep the outfielder.
